No Need to Explain

There is no need to explain.
No need.

Still, I sift.
I sort
                  looking for threads
to bind the dissimilar,
to stitch a narrative,
to explain
                  the unexplainable parts
of life.

There’s nothing wrong
with telling stories,
with bringing people together
around everything
                  that at first glance
seems so totally different.

You and I both know,
the world we’re living in
is just one possibility.

There are all kinds
of cracks and crevices
where the truth comes in.

Yet we treat it as a lie.

Too much explaining robs us
from discovering the mystery
                  and ruins our poetry.
