Seek the Edge

I seek the edge.

Don’t you too
                  just want a peak over.

Imagine darkness
                  so deep
                  so seductive
                  so completely subsuming
it overwhelms
and shuts down
your senses.

We all go
in search of that place
                  hoping to find
                  a tiny space
where it all began
                  you
                  me
                  something else
                  maybe a universe.

There,
in the inky black thisness
that holds everything,
and perhaps the only thing,
you hear a drum
then inhale.

{whisper the next lines}

A spark!
Your heart starts beating
                  now exhale.
